I’ve been impressed with Halide’s “Process Zero” camera mode, which shoots RAW photos, but tones down Apple’s default aggressive noise reduction. It also lets shadows be shadows and highlights be highlights. I fine-tuned these photos a bit in Lightroom, so they were less contrasty, but they already looked great as-is.
As Halide say in their post, this mode doesn’t work as well for low-light environments, when the iPhone works wonders to create a usable photo out of its relatively small camera sensor.
Also: yes, my cat sometimes looks demonic, but he actually loves being in front of the camera!
