Watching this 13 years after its release, where we’re saturated with movies with multi-verses, Inception takes a long time and many pages of dialogue to get the plot started. Everyone is so damn chatty!
Thankfully, the scale and spectacle still dazzle. Especially when the cross-cutting and Zimmer’s score get going, pounding viewers into a hypnotic stupor.
Random observations
- This has my favorite Tom Hardy performance. He’s so fun and snarky!
- Bullets travel through cars like, super easily. Add the shrapnel, and there’s just no way our characters would survive the onslaught in their vehicles.
- Note for Leo and team: Bring “John Wick”-style ballistic sports jackets on the next job.
